“I’ve never worked with a designer before... what should I expect?”

If you’ve been thinking about hiring a brand designer — but you’re not sure how the process works — this blog is for you.

A branding project isn’t just about getting a pretty logo. It’s a collaborative journey where we build the face, voice, and vibe of your business.

Here’s a simple breakdown of what it’s like to work with a professional brand designer (like me!).

📝 1. Discovery & Strategy Session

We start with a conversation. I’ll ask questions about:

  • Your business goals

  • Your target audience

  • Your style preferences

  • What makes you unique

This helps me create intentional design — not just something that “looks nice.”

You may also fill out a brand questionnaire or share references you like.

🎯 2. Moodboarding & Creative Direction

Before jumping into design, I’ll create a moodboard or visual strategy — a collection of colors, fonts, styles, and inspiration to align with your brand's personality.

Think of this as the “vision board” that sets the tone.

Once approved, we move to the actual design.

🎨 3. Logo & Identity Design

This is where the magic happens! I’ll present:

  • Primary logo

  • Secondary logo or submark

  • Icon (if needed)

  • Color palette

  • Font pairings

  • Real-life mockups

You’ll get to review everything and provide feedback.

We go through 1–2 rounds of revisions (depending on the package), so the final result feels 100% aligned with your brand.

📦 4. Final Deliverables

Once approved, I’ll share:

  • Logo files (PNG, JPG, PDF, etc.) in various color formats

  • A brand style guide

  • Any add-ons you’ve chosen (social media templates, visiting card, etc.)

These files are yours to use across your entire business — consistently and confidently.

🤝 5. Post-Design Support

Some designers disappear after delivery — I don’t.

I’ll guide you on:

  • How to apply your branding

  • How to stay consistent on social media

  • When to update or refresh in the future

You can also come back for additional design help — like festive creatives, story templates, or brand extensions.

FAQs You Might Be Wondering:

  • How long does it take?Typically 2–3 weeks depending on scope and feedback speed.

  • Do I need to be “clear” before we start? Not 100%. That’s what our discovery session is for!

  • Will I get editable files?Yes — and I’ll tell you exactly where/how to use them.

Final Thoughts

Working with a brand designer should feel exciting, empowering, and easy to navigate.

With the right process and communication, you’ll walk away not just with a logo — but with a brand you’re proud to show off.

If you're ready to bring your vision to life, I’d love to walk you through the process — step by step, with strategy and style.
